A very lovely, balanced and structured Clare Valley Riesling that combines ripe, just barely off-dry fruit with bracing, precise acidity. Still feels surprisingly tightly-wound and most likely could benefit from a few years in a cellar. Punches above its weight and presents great value at this price.
The name “Ministry of Clouds” symbolises the relinquishing of the past security and structure (Ministry), for the freedom, independence and adventure (Clouds) inherent in Julian and Bernice’s own venture. As James Halliday writes: “Trying to pick highlights is futile, simply because there are so many of them, and so few words available. No surprise Ministry of Clouds is one of my best new wineries for 2015.”
