Perfect for: Ants in the Pants
Officially the world’s most innovative spirit: Cambridge Distillery’s Anty Gin is the result of a collaboration with the visionary thinkers of the Nordic Food Lab, and is the very first gin in the world to be made from insects. Each bottle of Anty Gin contains the essence of approximately 62 red wood ants, along with hand-foraged botanicals including juniper, wild wood avens and nettle that complement the sharp citrus notes created by distilling the ants.
The Cambridge Distillery was created by couple William and Lucy Lowe, to make gins that capture the taste of the English seasons using botanicals grown in and around Cambridge. William was inspired by Lucy to make gin, as she loved it so much. The couple were entirely self-funded, so instead of investing in an expensive copper still they initially built their own vacuum distillation equipment.
