Deep ruby in the glass. Blasting aromas of oriental spice mixed with red and dark berry fruit. We rarely find an aromatic profile like this, so hats off for the uniqueness. The body is medium, has a good balance of all its elements and is complemented by some really soft tannins. Juicy, ripe dark berries and fruitcake with a tangy acid spike. Finishes long with ethereal varietal flavour.
In 2004, Tomfoolery started as a “fun” project, but over a decade and a half, this duo managed to produce some serious results. Ben “Chippy” Chipman and Toby “Yappy” Yap never tried to pigeonhole themselves with certain labels and their mission was clear – make pure expressions of the beautiful places where their grapes are grown. Find copious appeal for refreshing whites, rich reds and paler shades of rosé.
