Grape(s): Sangiovese
Drinkability:
Light ruby in the glass. Some herbaceousness hits at first, but more cherry, raspberry and plum swim to the surface. Tightly-knit on the palate with pronounced dark berry flavours, a lot of spicy bitterness, a little leather and the slightest hint of savoury old oak flavours. An explosion of acidity and just a brush of tannins. Definitely a no-nonsense Sangiovese, in dire need of hearty food.
