A bright ruby red wine with an aromatic nose of berry compote and baking spices of nutmeg, anise and dried herbs. Soft on the palate with supple red fruits with tighly woven tannins and a light touch of acidity.
Latta Headwaters Nebbiolo 2021
Interesting take on Sangiovese from the magician Owen Latta. Huge savoury core with the black and red fruit playing around in the front. Moderate depth, a lick of tannins and beautifully refreshing acidity. Winner.
Frederick Stevenson Sangiovese 2020
Sangio scents of red berries, cherry, bloody game meat, white pepper, dried, mixed Italian herbs. Juicy on the palate, riper red berry fruit characters but again the herbs, spice, gamey-savouriness, and amongst all that a weave of graphite-tinged, lacy tannin.
