Autumn Riesling is one of our favourite whites from the Penfolds range. Thrilling lime meets blooming lavender and ripe golden delicious apple, with a crisp crunch of pippy lemon on both the nose and palate. The finish is flush with perfume, though minorly bitter. There’s an attractive softness backed with tangy acid. Well done little drop, drunk best as an aperitif or with our lighter dishes.
Penfolds doesn’t need a grand introduction. This iconic winery has paved the way for Australia to become recognized internationally, not only for bold Shiraz, but for other evocative grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Cab Sauv and Pinot Noir. Sailing the ship for 19 years is Peter Gago, vinous rockstar that entered the Decanter Hall of Fame in 2021. His vision is pretty straightforward – make wine with “a bit of experience, a lot of luck, and plenty of alchemy.”
