Sweet and sour malt on the nose. Some heat too, complemented by an herbal twist. White pepper and crushed herbs on the palate. Thyme and a touch of lavender meet malt porridge and a twist of citrus. Sweetness comes into focus on the finish – lots of banana, soft brown sugar, butter tarts and coconut.
A family-owned independent bottler with a long history in Perth, Morrison & Mackay – however, its history actually begins off the coast of west Scotland, as it was originally founded as John Murray & Co. by the Bartholomew family on the Isle of Mull in 1982, producing whiskey liqueurs. In 1996 the Scottish Liqueur Centre was established as a production facility, visitor centre and shop in Perth.
