Grape(s): Pinot Noir
Drinkability: Impress
A classic Robinson Pinot Noir, with the purity in the fruit. Intense and silky long on the palate. Bright ruby red with a lifted nose of tangy raspberry fruit and Turkish delight. Crunchy red fruit, concentrated raspberry and red cherry with firm, silky tannins and red berry acidity on the finish. Attractive savoury cedar notes balance the fruit vibrancy.
A founding winery of the Mornington Peninsula at the very southern tip of the mainland, 1.5 hours south of Melbourne, the Moorooduc Estate has been planted since 1983. Family owned and run by Richard with his wife and daughter, focused on single plot Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Organically dry-farmed, all the wild yeast, no fining or filtration and they’ve always worked with the same three vineyards (their own, their viticulturalist’s and one leased from family friends).
