A complex Pinot Noir with dark cherries and rhubarb on the nose with a hint of spices. Good tannin structure and balanced acidity on the palate with notes of dark cherries and earthy coffee aromas lifted by oak derived spices and blood orange touches. Dry and concentrated.
Irrewarra, a young and modern brand, from a now mature vineyard site planted in 2001 by the Calvert family. Nick Farr, who is considered as one of the best winemakers in Australia, assisted the family in the winemaking process. he fruit comes from the western districts of Victoria, 150 km from Melbourne. The vineyard was planted in 2001 and comprises 6 acres of Pinot Noir and 2 acres of Chardonnay with Irrewarra the aboriginal word for long spear throw.
