Even though Barossa is not famous for producing light and crunchy reds, by now you may have figured out that our main man Freddy is not “in the box”. A GSM blend, this wine is what the French call ‘vin de soif’ – fragrant, light, juicy and ridiculously smashable. The whole-bunch fermentation gives it a grippy edge and a bit more character than your everyday house pour.
Steve Crawford aka the pirate winemaker brings incredible energy and character to South Australia’s wine scene. Steve’s initial goal was to become a chef, but while working in a garden store he realised he wanted to do something that involved travelling and being outside. His grand dream came true and today, he represents the firm backbone of the Barossa avant-garde movement.
