Brilliant drink. Shaped with light acidity, bright and wild flavours, red berries, kirsch-like fruitiness then a long trail of botanical herb and spice to finish with those fine, firm tannins drawing things long. Has that silky turn of high drinkability too. Wonderful, charisma-packed little red.
Blood Moon was started by Matt Aulich and a couple of mates back in 2014, but five years later, Matt went solo. His philosophy on winemaking is quite interesting – he produces it because of the wide array of flavours and aromas it offers, but also because of the textures that come out of different techniques. As he says – “this is a primal sensory experience, but infinitely nuanced”.
