Grape(s): Schiopettino
Drinkability: Guzzle
Red, curranty, herbal, biscuity. The palate is silken, herbal, spicy.
Schiopettino is a red varietal originating from the northeast corner of Italy, near the Slovenian border. This wine has a distinctive herbal and peppery note and a refreshing touch of acidity and a savoury finish.
Blood Moon was started by Matt Aulich and a couple of mates back in 2014, but five years later, Matt went solo. His philosophy on winemaking is quite interesting – he produces it because of the wide array of flavours and aromas it offers, but also because of the textures that come out of different techniques. As he says – “this is a primal sensory experience, but infinitely nuanced”.
