Pale lemon green in the glass. Aromatic, very similar to Sauvignnon Blanc with touches of Chenin – nectarine, white meadow flowers, green apple, a hint of lees contact. Quite straightforward, but extremely well-done. Balanced, juicy, long. Bang on value.
Blood Moon was started by Matt Aulich and a couple of mates back in 2014, but five years later, Matt went solo. His philosophy on winemaking is quite interesting – he produces it because of the wide array of flavours and aromas it offers, but also because of the textures that come out of different techniques. As he says – “this is a primal sensory experience, but infinitely nuanced”.
