A simply stunning Chardonnay influenced by white Burgundy. Textbook example of how good Geelong Chardonnay ages. There are no signs of decline whatsoever, but instead the wine has reached its apogee of stunning richness, complexity and opulence. It feels relatively big and quite round, yet it doesn't come across as heavy nor flabby because of its balanced acidity and bright, almost trebly minerality, balancing the weight and richness wonderfully. So very lovely. Tremendous value at this price.

Medium garnet in the glass, showing wonderful purple hues. The nose on this is just drop-dead gorgeous. OH! Reminds one of those French vin de soif wines from Beaujolais or the Rhone. Crunchy berry fruit, some sage, cracked pepper and roasted nuts. Pleasant balance in the mouth with a very persistent concentration of fruit in the front line and some green tones on the finish. Simple, but showing superb drinkability.

Some solid complexity coming through with ripe tropical & stone fruit followed by barrel fermented tones of brioche, vanilla and butter. Zippy acidity highlighting the fruit, preventing it from being overripe & heavy. Big alcohol as well, but balanced. Long finish.

A remarkably well-made, pure and nuanced orange wine that is very savory and simply dead-serious in style. Definitely a crowd-pleaser note to the nose, but offers so much precision on the palate. Chardonnay seems to lend this wine a kind of richness and body while Riesling comes in with the zippiness. The quality here is obviously top-notch and while there's certain rustic roughness around the edges, the wine is wonderfully pure and precise from the beginning to the end, not showing any excessive funk or such.

The palate expresses a flinty liveliness of stone fruit, with well-balanced natural acidity and complexity.

Tinta Roriz aka Tempranillo originates from Rioja, but it is also widely spread in Portuguese wine regions in Douro River Valley where it makes one of the five main blending components of famous fortified Port wines. Topper's vintage Tinta Roriz is fresh and sweet on the nose with dominating aromas of strawberry jam, blueberries, roasted walnuts, roasted almonds and a hint of coffee. The wine spent 9 years in an old barrel to develop a complex aromatic profile and sensationally silky texture.
